I live in Sacramento, California. My Sister's 6 yr-old Son was diagnosed with Stage IV, High-Risk Neuroblastoma, May 2015, when he was just 4 years old. He has endured a 15 hour surgery, life-saving (but very toxic) Chemotherapy, radiation and other "adult dose" protocols, a Stem Cell Transplant in 2-rounds and countless other treatments to finally be at a point of "N.E.D." (No Evidence of Disease), 9/24/16. We are so very grateful. It takes 5 years of N.E.D. To be considered a "Survivor".
Xen's road to Victory does not end, as you may know. He faces weekly maintenance treatments, organ compromise and hearing loss. I will forevermore acknowledge September as National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month (the Glow Gold for CHILDHOOD Cancer Awareness Month Campaign and Cure Fest).
Please, help us turn the World GOLD, at least for September, for our World's children?
As a U. S. Army Reserve Officer and OEF Combat Commander ('10), I still live the creed "No Soldier Fights Alone". I have started www.Xen4Gold.weebly.com and this special shirt because "No Child Fights Alone" either.
If you are an artist and would like to offer another representation of "Pink Loves Gold", feel free to share your ideas here and help raise awareness as well as funds for Xen's life-maintaining Care. Or perhaps you'll rather donate blood or gift funds to the well respected research foundation, www.BeatNB.org
Infinite Gratitude, Aunt Reneé
